Product description
The Brute is the machine a facilities crew buys when a standard buffer keeps dying on strip-out and surface-prep work. It is an all-steel, 125 lb single-disc rotary driven by a 1.5 HP 180-frame TEFC motor through triple-planetary 11:1 helical-cut gears, turning a 20 inch pad at 165 RPM. The totally enclosed fan-cooled motor is the point: it keeps stripper mist, slurry and concrete dust out of the windings on jobs that kill open-frame motors. At 8.4 amps it still runs on an ordinary 115V circuit, so a contractor can work a full shift without hunting for a 20-amp outlet or tripping breakers. It accepts 25, 50 or 75 lb weight kits for concrete resurfacing, stone polishing and wood screening, and a 20 inch dust-control conversion kit for dry grinding.
- 1.5 HP, 180-frame TEFC dual-capacitor AC motor on 115-230V 60 Hz — totally enclosed against stripper mist, slurry and grinding dust.
- Triple-planetary XHD 11:1 helical-cut case-hardened gearbox with an industrial steel coupler drives the pad at 165 RPM.
- 8.4 amp draw in the 20 inch size, so it runs a full shift on a standard 115V building circuit without nuisance breaker trips.
- 100% welded steel construction with a steel brush cover and full wraparound bumper for baseboard and door-frame contact.
- One-piece chrome heavy-duty steel handle with variable-position lock, dual steel operating triggers, negative-pressure on/off switch and a thumb-operated safety switch.
- 50 ft, 12-3 two-piece industrial power cord with cord lock — the cord separates for storage instead of being coiled onto the handle.
- 125 lb machine weight, and it takes 25 lb / 50 lb / 75 lb weight kits (#A0300-1, #A0300-2) for concrete resurfacing and stone polishing pressure.
- 1 in x 5 in non-marking ball-bearing wheels; optional 4 gallon solution tank (#A0001) and 20 inch 360 dust-control conversion kit (#A0200-20-360B).
- 66 dB average operation, meets the GS42 quiet-cleaning standard; UL/CUL listed.
- Same chassis is offered in 13, 15, 17 and 20 inch and in chrome (TECP/CP), Deluxe and Pro trims if a fleet needs to standardize.
Receiving — do not sign clean
- Count the pieces against the bill of lading before the driver leaves. A machine, its batteries and its accessories can ship as separate items.
- Walk the pallet. Check the shrink-wrap, the crate corners and the machine itself — forks go through crates more often than anyone admits.
- Photograph any damage before you sign. Once the driver has your signature the photographs are worth much less.
- Write the damage on the delivery receipt. A clean signature on a damaged pallet is what makes a freight claim hard. Then call 1-888-287-3732 the same day.
