Product description

The Tornado BD 20/11LT is a compact 20" self-propelled (traction-drive) walk-behind auto scrubber that cleans and dries up to ~18,837 sq ft/hr in a single pass while fitting through standard doorways. Its dedicated traction drive reduces operator fatigue, 48.5 lb of down pressure at 155 RPM tackles ground-in soil, and 24V lead-acid batteries with an on-board charger deliver up to 4 hours of runtime at under 70 dB(A). Roto-molded polyethylene 11/12-gallon tanks and tool-free squeegee/brush changes keep maintenance and downtime low. Made in the USA.

Neutral cleaner (daily routine)Low-foam neutral floor cleaner, high dilution. Pair with RED pad (light daily clean/buff) or BLUE pad (medium daily scrub). Best everyday chemistry — safe on finished/sealed floors, no rinse issues. Keep detergent % minimal to avoid foam.
Degreaser (heavy/food-service/industrial soil)Low-foam alkaline degreaser. Pair with GREEN pad (heavy scrub) or BLUE for moderate grease. Use the oil-resistant rear squeegee blade (48405030) on greasy floors. Watch foam — add anti-foam to recovery tank.
Stripper (floor-finish removal)Low-foam floor stripper, heavy solution flow, slow overlapping passes. Pair with BLACK or BROWN pad (most aggressive). Strippers foam heavily and are highly caustic — mandatory low-foam/defoamer, or foam trips the overflow float and can reach the vacuum motor. Consider a dedicated pad driver.
Finish / sealerDo NOT apply floor finish/sealer through the scrubber — this is a clean-and-dry machine only. Apply finish separately by microfiber flat mop/applicator after the floor is stripped, neutralized, and fully dry.
Low-foam requirement (all chemistry)Operator manual explicitly mandates LOW-FOAM detergent at minimum concentration; excess foam damages the suction motor and trips the recovery-tank overflow float. Add a small amount of anti-foam/defoamer to the recovery tank before stripping or when running high-alkaline chemistry.
